While the weather is getting cold, that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun in your yard! The holidays are a great time to add a burst of color, shining lights, and fun touches to your exterior. Keep reading to learn our favorite ways to give your lawn a festive makeover for the holidays.

Try an Outdoor Christmas Tree: Decorate a tree in your yard for a creative touch. Keep it traditional by winding the branches and trunk with lights and hanging colorful balls from the branches. Or, you can even wrap the trunk in festive fabric for a whimsical feel.

Hang a Wreath on the Door: This timeless look is always stylish and festive. To avoid damaging the visible part of your door, use a ribbon to suspend the wreath over the top of your door.

Simply cut a 3-inch wide measure of satin or grosgrain ribbon. Try to make it long enough to allow the wreath hang in your desired space when the ribbon is folded in half. Loop the ribbon around the back of your wreath form, join the ends, and fold them over by 1/2 inch. Then, use thumbtacks to attach them to the top of the door.

Add a Garland to Your Porch Railing: Use zip ties to secure an evergreen garland to your porch railing. Add a pretty red bow to the secured points.

Add Some Flare to Your Yard: There are dozens of options available for dressing up empty space in your lawn. Airblown decorations are available in classic shapes and popular cartoon characters. You could also add a holiday sign, a festive flag, or lighted reindeer.
